What Podcast To Transcript collects, why, who processes it and how long it is kept. We collect only what a transcript needs and we do not sell personal data.
What we collect
Your account: your email address, your name if you give one, a salted hash of your password or your Google account id, your plan and your settings.
Your episodes: the address and details of each episode you transcribe, the transcript, the insights and tool results you generate, your chat messages, and your minute and AI usage.
Payments: Stripe handles checkout and invoices. We store your Stripe customer and subscription ids, never your card details.
What the extension reads
On a podcast page the extension reads only what identifies the episode: the page address, audio sources, podcast metadata, RSS links, the title and the show name. It never reads page text, cookies or form data, and it sends the episode to us only when you act on it or to check whether you already have its transcript.
Access to all websites is optional and off by default. You can turn it on in Settings so the toolbar finds episodes on any site, and turn it off again at any time, which removes the access. Without it the extension works on supported podcast sites and when you click its button.
Who processes your data
Cloudflare hosts the service and stores its data. The speech to text provider you pick for a job receives the episode audio. Anthropic or OpenAI generates insights, tool results, translations and chat answers from the transcript. Stripe processes payments, Google handles Google sign-in, and our email provider sends sign-in codes. Each receives only what its task needs.
How long we keep it
Episode audio is deleted when its job ends and never kept longer than 24 hours. We never play or host it.
On the Free plan a transcript stays in your library for 90 days from when you added it. On Pro it stays while your account is active, and for 30 days after a downgrade.
A transcript is shared by everyone who transcribed the same episode. Once no library holds it and nobody has opened it for 90 days, it is deleted with its insights.
Your account stays until you delete it. Deleting it in Settings removes your account, sessions, library and chat history.
Logs and IP addresses
We never store your IP address. It is used briefly to slow down abuse and then discarded. Our logs and error reports never contain an IP address, a password, a sign-in code or transcript text.
Your rights
You can see, export and delete your transcripts in the app and delete your account in Settings. You can also ask us at [email protected] for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion, and you can complain to your data protection authority.
